Concept:
“Look at me!”, and more often, “Look what I can do!” are constant refrains with our children. They are ever so eager to share the amazing things they can do with their incredible bodies.
This theme captures the vitality and excitement of young children learning about their bodies and themselves. Our class will engage in activities to explore body parts, actions and movements, growth and health through fitness, hygiene and healthy eating. Throughout this theme lot of facts regarding our body parts will be discussed with the children. Your child will be naming and learning about the body parts as they sing action songs, play games and trace around each other’s bodies. There will be multiple activities involving multiple modalities for your child to explore his or her changing body.
You can support your child’s learning in this theme by talking to his or her about his or her body. Have your child practice reading the “My Body” reader he or she brings home from school. No matter what activities you choose to explore with your child, it is important for your child to develop positive feelings about his or her body.
