Concept:
Holidays!!!...the sound of the word has a festive and happy ring to it…encouraging a spirit of carefree fun and laughter and shared family adventures.
The purpose of this topic is to share with children the true spirit of the holiday season and to help children make connections to the very special times where the family has been together and enjoyed holidays. The two week theme unfolds with children sharing experiences of family holidays from the past, introducing them to different destinations that can be visited and exploring activities that can be enjoyed on a holiday.
This will be followed with a number of planning and organizing activities including preparing holiday foods and packing a suitcase. You can support your child’s learning in this theme by looking at holiday photos with your child to help him/her recall about where you went, what you did and how you planned and prepared for the holiday.

We are going on a summer holiday
We are going on a summer holiday,
No more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
No more worries for me or you,
For a week or two.
We’re going where the sun shines brightly;
We’re going where the sea is blue.
We’ve all seen it on the movies;
Now let’s see if it’s true.
Everybody has a summer holiday,
Doing things they always wanted to.
So we’re going on a summer holiday,
To make our dreams come true.
For me and you.
For me and you.
