ABOUT US
--------------
Ankur Rishikul Vidyalaya (ARV) is a school where technology and tradition (Cultural values) meet to offer a progressive and holistic mode of education to the children. The focus of ARV is to develop the overall personality of the child through Physical, Mental, Social, Emotional and Spiritual Development. The school has been started with pre-primary section and will continue till 12th standard.

OUR VISION :
------------------
Children are looked upon as Gifts of God with divinity and potentiality inherent in them. We see the child growing up into a COMPLETE human being with great talent, creativity, intelligence, compassion, love, truthfulness and the virtues of sharing – most of all a very happy individual. This is the role of ARV, creating very happy individuals.

WHAT IS EDUCATION ?
--------------------------
Simply ‘to know and impart’, is the dictionary meaning. Does it prepare a person to face the world? Do we know what the education system helps us attain?

Our education system makes us capable, only, to get a degree and find a job. So is that being slaves or masters? Slaves. The base of the present education system is memorizing of facts. In History we must know- who fought war? How many died? Date of King’s death? etc. if you cannot memorize you fail.

Education means “ to know & to be aware”. However, aware of what? It is to develop oneself in all the 5 aspects i.e. Physical, Mental, Social, Emotional & Spiritual. It is important to impart Education right from beginning i.e. the first years, in all its forms, so that it becomes the foundation.

ISP - The Art of Parenting
--------------------------------
This program guides parents on how to bring up children joyfully, right from the stage of conception to the age of 8 years. It makes parenting a great joy and an effortless process. All those who are part of ARV, need to undergo this programme to understand the nuances of raising a child and also to manage their own lives happily.

The concept is based on MET Rishikul Vidyalaya (MRV) and is one of the exponents of Infant SSY Programme (ISP- The Art of Parenting). The system is designed to include some important techniques evolved by Great Glenn Doman from Philadelphia, Dr. Montessori, The Aurobindo School, Gram Mangal and Guruji Shri Rishi Prabhakar.

Physical Development
------------------------
"A healthy mind resides in a healthy body”, is true. So Sports, Yoga, Exercises gives equal importance like the other areas.

Social Development
------------------------
Ankur Rishikul Vidyalaya has an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance. Here all festivals are celebrated with equal importance giving the culture for a Global Religious Harmony.

Eating together brings children closer and develops values like sharing and caring.

Spiritual Development
-------------------------
Yoga, Meditation, breathing techniques need to be introduced as early as 2 years. The development of the five senses (sight, taste, touch, smell and sound) is given great importance here. A child, whose senses have been highly developed, is naturally more inclined to spirituality.

Mental Development
------------------------
Academically, education is imparted through various creative methods such as flash cards, encyclopedia bits and mathematical dot cards and these are done in a playway method.

Emotional Development
-------------------------
Drama and puppet show give the children a chance to express their emotions. Music also plays an important role in the emotional development of a child.

This theme will build awareness in children about the changing season and how it effects us and our environment. In all the things that we do, the kind of clothes we wear, the fruits and vegetables that we eat… in other words the seasons affect our everyday lives and is an important part of our world. Beginning with the hot sweltering heat of the summer season, the yellow, bright sunlight and the cool pool splash fun, to mouthwatering mangoes and juicy water melons rolling into the washed world of monsoon showers and greenery in abundance….ending with the onset of cold winds, bonfires and woolen clothes bringing in the winter season that does not last too long….and then the beautiful season of spring time….an abundance of colours, clear blue skies and sprouting of new leaves on trees….That makes the four seasons complete. The awareness is created through classroom settings, role-play, stories and fun activities that are designed to encourage free expression and creativity. The theme “seasons” gives them an understanding of the ever changing environment and the patterns in nature.

Concept: Geometric shapes are all around us, in the building we live in, the cars we travel in and even in the food we eat. Children recognize these shapes early even if they do not know the correct vocabulary to name the different shapes they see. Children have informal knowledge of geometry during the early years. To build on this, activities are designed around development of appropriate vocabulary and opportunities to practice identifying geometric shapes in the classroom and the real world. This will also help the children to informally begin developing their concept of special sense.
This theme is intended to build awareness in children and motivate them to observe, differentiate, compare and relate different shapes they notice in and around their environment. They will be encouraged to use shape related vocabulary to describe. They will also, through exploring and exposure begins to name and identify differences in shapes. As children use two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes during this theme, they engage in different activities that require them to begin to take a closer look at shapes. What make a square a square? What makes a cube a cube? How are squares different from triangles?
You can support your child’s learning by playing the game “I spy” with him or her. Pick an object that you can see. Give clues about the shape of the object. Have your child guess what object you are describing. Start with easy clues and move to more difficult clues.

The reflected wavelengths are what we perceive as the object’s colour. To children, colour is one of the most attractive qualities of the visual world, from the subtle colours of the natural world to the bright colours of their toys, clothes and books.
This theme exposes children to the wonderful and magical world of colours. Our class will be conducting activities with paint. Your child will enjoy exploring its fluid nature, as well as how it mixes to make different colours. In addition to painting, children will experience many activities including colour matching and sorting games.

It is important that your child has access to wide variety of paints, colour materials, artistic tools and opportunities to explore their expressive possibilities. You can expand your child’s experiences of colours and textures by exploring crayons, markers, paints, pastels, paper, fabric collages and three-dimensional models with your child. In the beginning, you may notice your child using colour relationship to the object or figure. As they mature they will use colour more naturalistically through observation and exposure.

They will ‘catch a patch’, by finding their own patch in the garden for detailed observation. They will interview a gardener and help make observations of insects and their garden animals.

You can support your child’s development in this theme by taking them on excursions in your own community to explore other local animal and plant life. Encourage your child to talk about what they see and feel.
