Concept: This theme is intended to teach children about the colours seen in rainbow. The theme starts with the recapitulation of the primary colours- red, yellow and blue. Then children move on to experimenting with mixing two primary colours to make new secondary colours. Each day unfolds exposing the children to a different colour, thus by the end of the theme, the primary and secondary colours have been explored. Activities are designed around experimentation, exploration, stories, and rhythm and movement activities. Children in the process learn about identifying and recognizing some colours found in nature and in their immediate environment. The theme concludes with a discussion on the children’s favourite colour.
